Burled Wood for the Win

Milo Baughman made Burled wood furniture cool in the 60's. So of course, with the MCM craze, it's become a sought after design element.

A Burl is a growth on the root of a tree usually caused by an insect or mold infestation. The "burl" is then cut off and veneers are sliced from it to be used in furniture, doors, cabinetry inlays and even in car interiors.

It's grain is intensely twisted and swirled creating a stunning work of art.

Here are some stunning spaces that have used burled wood.
