The Chaise - The Perfect Cozy Spot for Fall

My Instagram feed is starting to fill with signs of fall approaching.  Pictures of leaves changing color and posts about "windows open" mornings.

While it's still in the upper 90's here in Austin, I've got my sights set on cooler temps and college football Saturdays.

A favorite cozy spot for cooler weather is in a chaise lounge with a blanket, pumpkin spice coffee and a great book.

Here are some beautiful spaces for a little inspiration.

Blue & White Dining Perfection by Bunny Williams

This dining room by the incomparable Bunny Williams is sheer perfection.

I've been working on a little Dining Room Refresh at my house.
There's a bit of navy & white buffalo check business happening and I'm loving it.

Bold and graphic but about as traditional as traditional can get.

Hoping for it to be complete next week.
Stay tuned!

Ceilings Need Love Too: Wallpaper On My Powder Room Ceiling

And this is the front runner. I'm about to place the order.

Here's the current state of my Powder Room. It's so difficult to photograph this little space, but here is a little glimpse inside.

These White Venetian Plaster walls are Ohhhh so dreamy. If I had the budget, the whole house would become this in a heartbeat.

There's an agate sconce with a gilt finish "halo" that gives off a really pretty glow.

Hammered copper vessel bowl, plaster mirror and antique brass library light above.

A framed peacock watercolor I bought on Etsy years ago hangs above a hammered metal and quartz  hook from Anthropologie. Turkish towel is also from Etsy.

And a Vintage Turkish rug with a sepia toned palette sits on concrete floors.

I think the wallpaper will add just the right amount of "Zing" in the space.

Here's some inspiration from some beautiful spaces with wallpaper on the ceiling.

Kitchen of the Week: Peter Copping's French Vacation Home in AD

This week's beyond amazing kitchen is in Peter Copping's vacation home in Normandy, France. As the artistic director for Oscar de la Renta, he and his partner mainly visit the home after the latest collection makes its way down the runway.

Peter Copping's Instagram account is a must follow!

Built in the 15th century and painstakingly renovated to repair a leaky roof and install a proper heating system, it is now a beautiful respite to the fast paced fashion industry.

The rest of the home is just as stunning as the kitchen, you really must pick up the latest copy of Architectural Digest to see the full tour.

Oh those masterful, thick walls. Just as one would expect from a home over 500, yes 500 years old.

The island was constructed by a local craftsman.
I love how it's clean lines and simple design compliment the space and relate to the exterior door and paneled window opening we catch a glimpse of to the right.

The round shelving holding fruit is by Godefroy de Virieu, a furniture and home decor designer from Paris.

A 17th c bust of Joan of Arc lends a watchful eye as meals are prepared on a Lacanache range.

16th c delft tiles from Amsterdam adorn the backsplash.

An antique cabinet completes this amazing space.

Le sigh. This space is the perfect mix of old and new with all the charm and warmth you would expect from a vacation home in France!

What's on your Dining Table?

Current flower arrangement on my dining table.

I'm constantly changing what lives on my Dining table. Fresh flowers are always a favorite. Other go-to decor favorites are candles, cut branches from the yard, a bowl of fruit...etc...

Here's another iteration with cut branches in a tall vase.

This Dining space by Elizabeth Tyler Kennedy has been in my inspiration folder for years.
This room is a reminder for me, that classic, simple spaces with a neutral palette are never boring. They are timeless.

Here are some fabulous Dining Rooms with ideas for what to display on your table.
