Lovely Lavender

As if I needed another reason to make a permanent move to France. Lavender fields have got to be one of the most breathtaking gifts from nature.

Antique Shops and Designers Magazine featured an article about a Lavender farm in  Chappel Hill, Texas.  After an inspiring visit to Provence, the owner transformed his hay field's soil to grow lavender in abundance. Certainly no easy task, but his hard work paid off! You can read the article here.

I could sit here for hours. Starting in the morning with cafe au lait, then moving to afternoon glass(es) of wine. And I rarely drink wine. When in  Rome  Provence!

Talk about curb appeal! Beautiful lavender lined path to the front door.

Taking inspiration from this stunning color, it's also beautiful used in interiors. Typically, this color would be a tad frou frou for me, but here are some lovely examples of it used in just the right amount.

An all over wash of pale lavender feels neutral on the walls, fireplace and built ins.

A hint of lavender at the foot of the bed is just right.

The soft lavender shade on the walls makes for a peaceful bedroom.

A little bolder, these mid century chairs look  great with crisp white walls in this sitting room.

Paired with a neutral Seagrass rug and a well edited room, these chairs are just the right dose of color.

Lavender walls can be a soft backdrop for more colorful pieces.

This tufted slipper chair from  Anthropologie is a great way to inject a bit of purple into a room.

Barely lavender linen Louis XVI  chairs from Wisteria are a great feminine touch to this office.

This kitchen has been in my inspiration folder for years! Subtle lavender tones in the chair cushions and backsplash are so pretty.

Love this more bold colored scroll bench.

This dining room is soft and serene.

Fabulous high back chairs blend beautifully to the landscape outside.

One of my favorite spaces, Ina Garten's farmhouse, is the perfect blend of white, natural wood tones and a touch of color with this pretty purple linen desk chair.
