First Impressions

The Front Door.

It's the first interaction you have with a home.  What material is it?  What color? Glass, iron, wood?
Does it enhance the architecture of the home?
So many details that set the mood for what you will encounter inside.

I've always loved big, heavy door knockers.  Mostly, the kind that leaves an echo that can be heard throughout the house and down the street.

Dutch door, brick floors, bench, railing detail.

Who doesn't love a dutch door?  Makes me want to saw mine in half.  Pretty sure Buster would jump right through when UPS comes...his arch nemesis!

Intricately carved wood door topped with ornate wrought iron fan.

Intricate carving, a door knocker and detailed iron scrollwork transom.  Love it all!

Beautiful detailed painting on wood door.
Notice how this door is hinged and handle is in the middle.
