A Jeffrey Alan Marks Designed Home For Sale in Austin

Happy Friday SLD readers!

I was sleep-surfing on the interwebs last night and came across a real estate listing that made me wake up.

This Spanish style beauty designed by Jeffrey Alan Marks and featured in his book, The Meaning of Home, is back on the market in Austin.

JAM was one of my many favorites (they were all awesome...Bravo, bring it back!!) on Million Dollar Decorators.

I saw the listing nearly a year ago and it's back on for $8.9 million.

It's situated on just under an acre in Tarrytown, a very affluent (obviously) older part of Austin with large oak trees, access to Lake Austin and is close to downtown.

At just under 10,000 SF with 6 bedrooms, 7 full baths, 3 half baths, 5 living areas including a wine room with seating for 8, this can be yours! I bet you can get them to throw in the Hermes blankets as a housewarming present;)

You can view the listing here.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

Kitchen of the Week: London Designer, John Minshaw

This week, my favorite kitchen is London Designer, John Minshaw's own home featured in the June 2012 issue of House & Garden UK.

It is a renovated barn in Oxfordshire that is absolutely exquisite. You really must read the feature here. (Select H&G: Designers Own Homes)

The contrast between the navy cabinetry and white walls is perfectly balanced by the floors, stone counters and limestone wall. I love his collection of pottery and how the glassware, white plates & such are on display.

I absolutely love how the exterior stone transitions to the interior space. Well done sir!
